Andhra pradesh power generation corporation limited (apgenco) is one of the pivotal organizations of andhra pradesh, engaged in the business of power generation. Apart from operation & maintenance of the power plants it has undertaken the execution of the ongoing & new power projects scheduled under capacity addition programme and is taking up renovation & modernization works of the old power stations.

Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGENCO) isthe electricity generation company of the Government of Andhra Pradeshstate in India. It has an installed capacity of 7048.4 MW which makes it the third largest power generation company in India.[3] Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited is one of the pivotal organizations of Andhra Pradesh, engaged in the business of Power generation. Apart from operation & Maintenance of the power plants it has undertaken the execution of the ongoing & new power projects scheduled under capacity addition programme and is taking up renovation & modernization works of the old power stations. APGENCO came into existence on 28.12.1998 and commenced operations from 01.02.1999.

This was a sequel to Governments reforms in Power Sector to unbundle the activities relating to Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Power. All the Generating Stations owned by erstwhile APSEB were transferred to the control of APGENCO.

APGENCO has issued a recruitment notification for recruitment of 350 Sub Engineers. Here are details of written test format, Syllabus for the test and Selection process.

Selection Process :-
The selection process consists of a single stage written test consisting of 100 Questions of 1 mark each. However, for merit ranking, marks will be proportionate to a maximum of 50 marks in the written test (in simply words, the marks will be halved).

The written test consists of 2 Sections, Section A deals with questions from the respective Diploma subject and Section B will have Questions on Power plant.

General candidates need to score at least 40% (35% for OBC and 30% for SC/ST/PH) in the written test to be eligible for merit ranking.

Final merit list will be prepared for a maximum of 100 marks, out of which 50 marks are from written test. The rest 50 marks will be evaluated as follows:
Maximum of 30 marks for your marks scored in Diploma (your diploma marks x 30/ Total Diploma marks)
Maximum of 10 marks for Qualifying exam.

Maximum of 10 marks if you have at least 6 months service experience in APGENCO (5 marks for experience less than 6 months)

A final merit list will be prepared by scoring candidates in descending order according to their marks secured in written test and the above 3 points.
